Title: Image Scientist​​​​​​​

Cornerstone’s Intelligence Sector provides solutions to the United States Government for information collection, operations, exploitation and dissemination, and research activities. Our Team specializes in software development, cloud architecture, systems and network engineering, systems integration, agile management, as well as targeting operations and intelligence analysis. Our support to our mission customers includes cyber network operations, exploitation and defense, signals intelligence, human intelligence, and critical missions and networks.


Candidate shall perform image science tasks that apply experience with sensor imaging systems, products, and exploitation processes in a production environment for a 24×7 operational system. candidate shall use overhead infrared sensor data knowledge to perform data analysis, image processing (on and offline techniques), algorithm development, and sensor characterization to solve some of the most difficult intelligence problems.


perform, as required, the following tasks but not limited to:

  • Analyze data and processing algorithms collected by sensors on intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms (i.e. HIS, EO, Radar, IR, LIDAR, SIGINT)
  • Develop and enhance Phenomenology, Ground Truth, and Special Techniques in support of experiments across a wide-range of customers and partners around the world.
  • Develop and validate requirements for various complex communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components
  • Utilize Image Scientist software suites such as ENVI, SOCET GXP, Agility, Matlab, IDL, and Unix.
  • Work well in a tight-knit team environment that includes customers, partners, operations, product quality, systems engineers, and have reliable work attendance
  • Collect, organize, synthesize and analyze data; summarize findings: develop conclusions and implement solutions focusing on advanced analytical capabilities
  • Present problem solution in a clear and concise manner

personnel shall have completed coursework or have experience in the following areas:

  • Image Processing Engineering, Remote Sensing Systems Engineering, or Computer Vision Engineering.
  • Image Scientist/Physics/Astronomy: sensor imaging systems, products, and exploitation process; COTS packages including tools for product creation, modification and off-line analysis of image data; interpreting results from onboard and offline algorithms and automated processors.


Supplier personnel shall be able to obtain and maintain image scientist qualification.

Supplier personnel shall work in a periodic rotating shift to cover a 24/7 operation including holidays and weekends.


  1. personnel shall be U.S. citizens. Supplier personnel shall have U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (a U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). personnel shall have the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance/Special Program Access or other government access requirements. Supplier personnel shall be willing to take a Full-Scope Poly (FSP) if requested to match assignments.
