Network Engineer Level; II

We are looking for team-members with creative talent who are ready to take on the challenge of Network Engineer Level II to work collaboratively in order to further advance cutting-edge technology, products, and services for a large Government agency to detect and mitigate insider threats.
 
This SIGNINT/COMINT program is manned by a multi-disciplinary team of system and data engineers, data scientists, software developers, analysts, and investigators to provide SIGINT/COMINT intelligence services. This program provides an opportunity to further advance cutting-edge technology, products, and services for a large Government agency to detect and mitigate threats. This program takes data from multiple sources in any format (structured or unstructured), transforms it into interpretable fragments, and allow our engines to categorize, quantify, distill, and display results for human analysts to interpret. Team members work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The technology stack is built on cutting edge hardware and software with multiple environments interfacing with multi-petabyte data processing and analytic platforms – all designed, built, and maintained by the program.
 
We are looking for a Network Engineer Level II that is a self-starter with the mindset that stays up to date with the latest tools and techniques. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that provides an opportunity to leverage cutting edge technologies in pursuit of a vital mission that protects people, sensitive information/technologies, and the national security posture of the USIC.

Roles and responsibilities potentially include:
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
  • Create and manage user access across the IT infrastructure
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
  • Support a variety of operating systems including Windows (server and client and Linux/Unix)
  • Manage Windows Environments
  • Administer and update Linux/Unix environments
  • Install, build, and maintain standard server configurations
  • Maintain and support virtual infrastructure
  • Administer Storage Devices
  • Manage and network switches/routers
  • Configure, manage and administer enterprise level network storage devices
  • Configure and manage operating systems and installs/loads, operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain the integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating system enhancements
  • Create scripts to automate systems related processes
  • Perform telecommunications and network analysis and performance
  • Develop and build environments using telephony and network equipment
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), NetApp Certified Storage Associate (NCSA) or hold an equivalent certification
 
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), NetApp Certified Storage Associate (NCSA) or hold an equivalent certification
  • Linux and enterprise architecture planning and deployment,  virtualization and storage backends
  • Manage the enterprise security posture (STE, SEAR, Patch management, requirement mitigation, AD group policy enforcement, authentication, user segmentation, equipment validation for customer restrictions, always securing all data ( designing and managing mechanisms )
  • VMware enterprise infrastructure experience
  • Microsoft AD domain controllers( AD functions DNS, DHCP, print server, filesharing, group policy enforcement, replication )  workstations, thin clients, servers and dependent applications support
  • Look at current and upcoming requirements and translate that to IT needs, build an infrastructure (multiple), migrate VMs and data, secure the enterprise
  • Spec’ing lab and server space and building plant.  Power and cooling, rack and elevation planning, patch panel planning and spec’s, cable and connector standards, space planning (offices and conference rooms) – cable runs and convergence.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in a related specialized area or field of the equivalent plus a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
