Title: Senior IT Systems Architect
Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary systems architect, providing expertise in the design, planning, and integration of IT solutions across multiple platforms and environments.
  • Steer strategic IT initiatives and coordinate with various team levels, including software developers, cybersecurity professionals, and decision makers at the customer level as well as within the consortium, to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Maintain oversight of infrastructure across diverse platforms, including VMWare, OpenStack, Windows Server, and Red Hat Linux, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business goals.
  • Develop, evaluate, and oversee the implementation of automation scripts and IT solutions using Bash, Python, or PowerShell to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure the IT infrastructure adheres to the latest industry best practices and security guidelines, performing regular reviews and updates.
  • Troubleshoot high-level IT issues, providing guidance and solutions to ensure minimal downtime and disruption.
  • Facilitate the deployment and maintenance of critical collaboration tools providing real-time communications as well as knowledgebases and ticket systems.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to assist in the decision-making process and improve the user experience for all stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in IT systems architecture, with proven expertise in designing and deploying complex IT solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and architectures.
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware and OpenStack.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-stakes IT projects and initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications such as VCDX (VMware Certified Design Expert), RHCA (Red Hat Certified Architect), or CCNP/CCIE (Cisco Certified Network Professional/Expert).
  • Experience with CI/CD toolsets, GitOps, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of storage solutions, both software such as Ceph, and hardware like Dell EMC Unity
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
