Roles and responsibilities potentially include:
Setting up and managing Linux systems, applications and environments and ensuring those systems comply with government security standards
Apache web server administration and configuration
Maintains High Availability infrastructure ensuring security compliances and high level performance while minimizing service interruption
Provide network systems securities through policy enforcement and monitoring access
Assists in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS etc
Troubleshooting network hardware and software applications, OS upgrades, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
Required Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a specialized area; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of a IAT Level II (DoD 8570.1M) certification is required: e.g. GIAC Security Essentials – GSEC; CompTIA Security+ CE; Security Certified Network Professional – SCNP; Systems Security Certified Practitioner – SSCP
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Familiarity with Windows systems, VMWare, Hadoop, and Storage Area Networks, Big Data Analytical environments
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, retain, and apply good interpersonal skills, and perform effectively under time pressure
