Our customer is seeking a Software Development and Test Engineer to join their Software Engineering team in Colorado Springs, CO.
As a Software Development and Test Engineer and member Software Engineering team, responsibilities include the following:
You will be involved in the entire system development life cycle, from idea creation and development, all the way through to maintenance and support of the customer’s delivered system.
This position will place you in roles where you have the opportunity to make an impact on the results of our project.
The Software Engineering team offers a collaborative mentoring environment where you have the opportunity to learn from others while mentoring our less experienced staff.
This position requires an active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance
The position is contingent on clearance verification and customer concurrence.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
Experience with C++ design, coding and test
Experience working in an Agile Environment utilizing tools like Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc)
Experience with requirements management and test process management (TMP) including the use of tools like Rational Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
Experience identifying, performing and reviewing design decisions, trade studies, architecture improvements
Experience with software testing at different levels, including component, configuration item, subsystem, integration/system, and acceptance testing
Experience developing test artifacts including Test Plan, Test Approach, Test Procedures, and Test Report
Experience developing test execution scripts and using test automation tools to maximize automated testing
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Existing Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance
Experience working with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools like Cameo Enterprise Architecture
Experience working with system components for satellites and ground systems
Experience with Linux operating system
Experience working in DevSecOps or DevOps Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environments
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
