Responsibilities for this Position Our program provides an opportunity to further advance cutting-edge technology, products, and services for a large Government agency to detect and mitigate insider threats. This program takes data from multiple sources in any format (structured or unstructured), transforms it into interpretable fragments, and allow our engines to categorize, quantify, distill, and display results for human analysts to interpret. Team members work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The program technology stack is built on cutting edge hardware and software with multiple Windows and Linux environments interfacing with multi-petabyte data processing and analytic platforms – all designed, built, and maintained by our team. The field of insider threat detection and mitigation is evolving and growing, and our program needs highly innovative individuals.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Administer and manage Windows and Linux operating systems for on-premises systems, engineering, analysis, and test environments
Perform system and user account maintenance
Test and assess security configuration of Windows and Linux servers
Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance
Troubleshoot and resolve operating system conflicts
Analyze, test and implement security patches and hardening
Perform maintenance data collection on the equipment
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities
Document maintenance actions
Installs, configures and maintains multiplatform systems hardware, software and components
Integrates security solutions into information systems
Will be a team member supporting the day-to-day operations of a production customer Insider Threat analytic network
Will work closely with a small team comprised of diverse skill sets
Will be responsible for maintaining the health and well being of the current infrastructure
Candidates should have strong Tier 1-2 administrative and debugging experience
A strong candidate will be comfortable working in a multi-vendor network with a large array of COTS applications
Will work closely on Assessment and Authorization (A&A) efforts to ensure the infrastructure meets all requirements
Candidates must be self-starters and have the aptitude to work independently in a fast paced continuously evolving environment
Identify and develop automated tasks to streamline manual activities
Ensure the systems meet security requirements
Monitor and remediate system backup issues
Monitor SIEM for system incidents
Participate in internal / external security audits/inspections, create and maintain Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) as required
Assist team with continuous monitoring, implementation and troubleshooting of required patch compliance for all clients
Responsibilities may require periodic evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience with Windows and Linux system administration including testing building/provision large-scale physical and/or virtual environments

Experience with desktop support to users
Experience troubleshooting hardware related issues.
