Required Skills:

Job Description
The Sponsor’s office collects, exploits, and disseminates publicly available information in a timely, mission-impactful way. The Sponsor’s office environment is fast paced and requires specialized skills in cloud-based IT management, workflow automation, IT project management, innovative software development and integration of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) based applications. The Systems Engineer (SE) should have ServiceNow development skills including Service Portal, Service Catalog, Widget development, Record Producers, Scripting in the Portal space and UI16, Flow Designer, UI Policy, Client Script, UI Actions, Script Includes, importing data sources, etc. The SE will design, develop, and modify software systems; document and track vendor software roadmaps for software and patch version updates; unit test their software and perform code reviews; and modify and integrate commercial software into cloud environment. They should understand multi-cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, Google, and others and will provide the Sponsor estimated costs of deploying system components to the target environment. They will coordinate and collaborate across the appropriate groups within security, operations, testing and other teams to provide system information and technical support; create, manage, and update work tickets; ensure that applications and services that fall under their purview are running up to date software versions to include code libraries; and provide weekly status updates regarding schedule deliverables, risks, and dependencies. The Systems Engineer will also work with and follow change and configuration management process and tools, manage the progress of COTS product integration and development efforts, comply with the existing programmatic methodologies, and coordinate appropriately for problem resolution, task scheduling, new resource requirements, and task clarification. The Sponsor is seeking support in the domain of Endpoint Security Engineering. The focus is primarily on working in a mission technology area, which uses multiple IT systems and networks that operate in both the secure and unsecure environments. The unsecure cloud networks are primarily within Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The Sponsor is transforming its networks, systems, and applications processes to build a secure and trusted computing environment while providing the capabilities for secure information sharing across the enterprise. The Cyber Security Engineer will provide risk mitigation recommendations for systems and applications and provide support on information security policies, regulations, and technical implementations regarding facets of cyber operations, and the Sponsor’s Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) process. They will provide support to projects teams overviewing the Sponsor’s A&A platform and streamline communications/processes between projects, ISSMs, and Sponsor Cyber Security teams. The Cyber Security Engineer will shepherd an educational initiative for system evaluation against NIST 800-53, Risk Management Framework (RMF), DISA STIGS, Zero Trust M-22-09, FedRAMP and other security standards and publications, as well as the Sponsor’s internal security regulations; orchestrate the acceleration of control selection, and acceptance for project teams and system owners towards Approval to Operate (ATO); and actively participate in or shepherd technical exchange meetings and application review boards, to verify and validate systems security controls, and provide guidance with respect to after action items/requirements. They will also provide routine briefing on system status and mitigations activities as required by the Sponsor.
