The National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force (NCIJTF) is the national cyber center that links the cyber capabilities of multiple member agencies through the cooperation and collaboration efforts of collocated agency assignees. Doing so enables its Presidentially-mandated mission to be the focal point for all government agencies to coordinate, integrate, and share pertinent information related to all cyber threat investigations. Unlike traditional task forces where members from different agencies are often deputized or temporarily granted the authorities of the hosting agency, the individual participants of the NCIJTF retain the authorities and missions of their home agencies and organizations.
The NCIJTF operates and maintains analytical platforms, systems, and networks in support of its mission that are not currently supported by the Government's Information Technology Services Division (ITSD). Specific networks, platforms, systems, applications, and tools (hereafter referred to as "IT assets") are in use and were created to assist the NCIJTF in identifying adversarial activity that poses a threat to the nation's security.
