Cornerstone Defense, in partnership with our military, intelligence, and civil government customers, supports U.S. operations worldwide through the use of many different types of intelligence, satellite, and cyber technologies. Cornerstone’s Intelligence Sector provides solutions to the United States Government for information collection, operations, exploitation and dissemination, and research activities. Our Team specializes in software development, cloud architecture, systems and network engineering, systems integration, agile management, as well as targeting operations and intelligence analysis. Our support to our mission customers includes cyber network operations, exploitation and defense, signals intelligence, human intelligence, and critical missions and networks.
The Level 3 System Administrator (SA) shall possess the following capabilities:
Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems
Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
Support the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware
Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration
Fifteen (15) years' experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
The contractor shall be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools for an unclassified Unix and Windows enclave. Contractor must create policies and procedures to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability required to run the evaluation of various technical solutions.
Additional tasking shall include researching, evaluating, comparing, and recommending COTS, GOTS, and FOSS libraries, frameworks, and tools across multiple disciplines that could integrate into a future system of system (SoS) software stack. Contractor must be familiar with current industry standards, trends and tool suites used in the disciplines below.
Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM)
Configuration Management (CM) and Auto Provisioning
Systems Monitoring and Analytics
Experience with scripting Bash/Python
Experience with using the Unix command line
Experience performing System Administration including installation, configuration, and sustainment of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a Unix and Windows environment
Experience configuring, and sustaining storage appliances such as NetApps and JBODs
Experience with IaC concepts and tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, and Chef
Experience with network monitoring tools such as Nagios and Gangilia
Familiar with metrics visualization technologies such as Grafana and Kibana
Familiar with software frameworks used for searching, monitoring, and analyzing big data such as Elastic Stack and Splunk
Familiar with containerization technologies such as Docker
