Cornerstone Defense is looking for a Linux System Administrator to join the Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS)/Red LAN program located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Responsibilities:
This position leads and maintains various Windows and Unix/Linux-based operating systems across multiple local area networks (LANs). You will be a member of our small team that has multiple LANs and Systems. You will investigate, analyze, and resolve system problems to maintain 24/7 Space Domain Awareness (SDA) data flow to our war fighters. You will have regular contact with customers, subcontractors, and teammates. You will work onsite at the customer location.
Coordinate all aspects of Windows or UNIX/Linux systems in operations, engineering, analysis, and test environments.
Develop and maintain SBSS/Red LAN hardware and software resources within mission objectives for routine and non-routine operations. Perform data collection on equipment, including Government Furnished Equipment GFE. Install, configure, and fix applications and software.
Perform system and user account maintenance.
Implement, test, and assess cyber security configuration of Windows and Linux servers in a Risk Management Framework (RMF) environment.
Install, analyze, test, and implement cyber security patches and hardening.
Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance. Perform system backup and restore tasks. Resolve operating system issues.
Support telephone and physical recall for system anomalies as needed.
Provide system administration support and assistance for development systems.
Build, cyber-harden, and configure systems.
Develop disaster recovery procedures. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Document maintenance actions.
To meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite.
Required Skills:
5+ years in System Administration or Network Administration.
5+ years of proven ability with UNIX/Linux.
5+ years using centralized services to include Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Domain Name Services (DNS), and System/File recording for system failure recovery (resiliency) (back-ups).
3+ years of experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) policies and implementation.
One or more current DoD 8570 IAT, Level II Certification: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP.
Desired Skills:
5+ years of experience with scripting with Power Shell, Bash or Python.
5+ years of experience with configuration management in Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
