We are looking for an experienced DBA to join our team and rapidly build familiarity with MarkLogic under the oversight of experienced MarkLogic consultants. Shortly after joining our team, you will learn to administer MarkLogic databases, including deploying database updates to development and production environments, troubleshooting database issues, and providing database related support to various cross-functional teams.

  • Manage and maintain Marklogic NoSQL backend database systems to ensure database uptime and performance
  • Provide database support to development teams during the entire software development lifecycle
  • Take proactive action while monitoring the databases using monitoring tools
  • Execute database deployments to all development and production environments
  • Assist in defining and implementation of database architecture to support application development
  • Fine tune database configurations to improve performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues
  • Automate monitoring, maintenance tasks, and routines
  • Provide operational support assistance as needed
  • Perform tests of upgrades and new database infrastructure
  • Write and maintain technical database documentation and diagrams


Skills and Qualifications(must include minimum years of experience and education):

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of database infrastructure, maintenance, administration, and design.
  • Ability to complete root cause analysis on database-related issues.
  • Ability to complete impact analysis on database-related issues.
  • Relentless problem-solving attitude and skills to figure out issues in multiple environments
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues that involve database infrastructure.
  • Ability to complete database infrastructure installations.
  • Ability to research new or alternative database technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of RDBMS concepts.
  • Hands-on DBA experience in managing database instances
  • Good understanding of NoSQL concepts (Working knowledge of any NoSQL database is a plus).
  • Familiarity with other relational engines like Oracle or SQL Server
  • Good communication skills (i.e., both verbal and written).

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in database administration, or
  • Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years of relevant experience in database administration

Clearance Requirement: This position requires a Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a CI/Poly
