Generate intelligence from their own data sources and share it accordingly

Identify, extract, and leverage intelligence from APT intrusions

Expand upon existing intelligence to build profiles of adversary groups

Leverage intelligence to better defend against and respond to future intrusions

Correlate data from intrusion detection and prevention systems with data from other sources such as firewall, web server, and DNS logs

Notify the management team of significant changes in the security threat against the government networks in a timely manner and in writing via established reporting methods

Coordinate with appropriate organizations within the intelligence community regarding possible security incidents.  Conduct intra-office research to evaluate events as necessary, maintain the current list of coordination points of contact.

Review assembled data with firewall administrators, engineering, system administrators and other appropriate groups to determine the risk of a given event

Maintain knowledge of the current security threat level by monitoring related Internet postings, Intelligence reports, and other related documents as necessary

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Security Engineering or Network Engineering, including cyber security issues and operations, computer incident response, systems architecture, data management

Experience with working nation state intrusion sets

Experience with and expert level proficiency in one or more of the following disciplines:

Windows and/or Linux operating systems

Network forensics

Expertise at enterprise scale:

3.5 CYBER SECURITY
Investigate virus, malware alerts, and incidents to determine root cause, entry point of code, damage risk, and report this information immediately to the Sponsor.

Customer is seeking a Security Engineer
– An understanding of implementing security best practices and Intelligence Community (IC) compliance requirements into networking, computing, and enclave environments.

– Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining system security certification and accreditation for IT systems in accordance with IC compliance requirements.
– Demonstrated experience reviewing and evaluating customer security issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
– Demonstrated experience managing continuous monitoring responsibilities for IT systems.
– Demonstrated experience managing vulnerability scanning responsibilities for IT systems.
– Demonstrated experience supporting security planning, assessment, risk analysis and risk management using the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
– An understanding of the security requirements for the proper handling and protection of government data in the IC.
– Strong speaking, writing and presentation skills.
– Demonstrated experience with writing detailed technical documentation for installation/configuration and O&M procedures.
– Possess analytical and problem-solving skills for developing security solutions based on a set of requirements.

Python Programming – Develops web services, to include Representational State Transfer (REST) APIs, as pandas, numpy, scipy, gensim, and scikit-learn. Database technologies, including Elasticsearch and SQL databases. Data pipelines and workflow technologies, such as Apache NiFi.
Web Application Programming – Develop JavaScript/HTML/CSS web user interfaces using the Angular and Vue.js framework, including experience with, or knowledge of, additional web UI frameworks, such as React and/or Extended JavaScript (ExtJS), full-stack.
– Strong Python, JavaScript are the primary languages for the customer development efforts
– Strong NoSQL and SQL database experience, specifically with Elastic, MySQL, and /or DynamoDB
