Title: Configuration Management Expert

  1. Description: The successful Configuration Manager (CM) will create, update and maintain configuration documentation of new and existing systems. The CM will innovate and look for new methods to migrate data from system to system. He/she will ensure that systems and services are consistently documented as they are developed, delivered, and maintained in a way that meets Customer’s expectations and industry best practices. Must be detail oriented to record the chronological order of events from beginning to end process. These cases are sensitive in nature and must be handle with strict confident. The criteria of Executive Order (EO) 13526, or as amended, the Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act laws. Organize documents in preparation for legal counsel to review must be properly recorded with accuracy. Act as a liaison for Other Government Agency (OGA) involved in the process. Conduct desktop research analyze results to determine the relevance of a new search or whether the requested records have been previously declassified and/or released. The individual will provide the rationale for redaction actions on the electronic version of the documents using codes provided in the Sponsors declassification guidance; provide recommendations regarding the release of the documents for Sponsor approval; and record decisions in the Sponsors automated systems. The individual will determine if a record contains Other Government Agency equities and requires external referral or if the record requires non-routine handling. In addition, managing the referral process. Organize documents in in preparation for declassification review and correctly assign these items to the proper equity holder. Qualification Requirements  
Relevant EA experience must be in:

  • Computer or information systems design/development/analysis roles 
  • In addition, it may also include engineering hardware and/or software, programming, computer/network security, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, computer forensics, information assurance, systems engineering, and/or network and systems administration
  • EA’s apply deep understanding of adversary networks, network defenses, and cyber network operational capabilities to develop exploitation plans and make operational adjustments as plans are executed
  • Completion of military training in a relevant area such as JCAC (Joint Cyber Analysis Course) may be considered towards the relevant experience requirement (i.e., 24-week JCAC course may count as 6 months of experience). In some cases, foreign language proficiency may also be used to satisfy experience requirements; recent Interagency language Roundtable (ILR) scores are required to substantiate your proficiency level. The total of all experience equivalencies is capped at half of the required years of experience.

Education, Training, and Certifications
Requires a degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (e.g., General Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Information Assurance, or Computer Security).
Note that 18 semester hours of military training/coursework in networking, computer science, or cyber topics may be equivalent to an Associate degree.

The ISSE is responsible for conducting information system security engineering activities that capture and refine information security requirements and ensures their integration into information systems through purposeful design and configuration. Specific duties include:
• Leading a small team of ISSEs.
• Validating and verifying system security requirements, conducting security control assessments, and establishing system security designs for cloud-based and hybrid systems.
• Identifying and implementing appropriate information security architectures and configurations to ensure compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations.
• Recommending and developing technical solutions based on current and desired system security architecture.
• Proposing, assessing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
• Assessing and mitigating system security threats and risks throughout the system life cycle.
• Analyzing and assessing system implementation against multiple security compliance policies, identifying points of vulnerability and non-compliance, and recommending and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Evaluating the impact of new development on the operational security posture of the system and formulating security compliance requirements for new system features.

• Leading and/or contributing to the security planning, assessment, and authorization activities for various systems and networks spanning multiple enclaves and with differing data protection/classification requirements.

Perform system and integration testing with sample and live data, and monitor health, usage and overall compliance of the application.

Contractor will be supporting an enterprise wide mission environment.  Minimum of 10 years experience as a Linux System Admin / Eng.
